Meet Emily
Wife, mother, dog lover.
Like so many in our community, my path has been shaped by a deep belief in service, hard work, and doing right by the people around me. I began my career in the classroom, teaching and working directly with students and families. Those years grounded me in what matters most, listening, problem-solving, and showing up every day ready to make a difference.
I went on to earn my doctorate in educational leadership and continued my work in public service, including time in the Virginia House of Delegates as a legislative aide, where I see firsthand how decisions made in Richmond impact communities like Winchester. I enjoy helping constituents navigate state agencies and reviewing policy. My experience strengthened my commitment to practical, local solutions, not politics as usual.
As a member of City Council, I’ve worked to keep our community moving forward while staying rooted in the values that make Winchester special. I’ve made it a priority to be accessible, to listen, and to ensure that the voices of our residents are heard and respected in every decision. That means sometimes, I’m the only dissenting vote. I won’t go along to get along, and if something isn’t right for the majority of Winchester residents, I’m going to stand up for us.
I believe in responsible government, transparency, and making smart choices that protect taxpayers while investing in our future. I firmly support public safety, education, addressing challenges like housing and substance abuse, and strengthening the economic foundation that allows our community to thrive.
